KEEPING HEALTHY AT HOME

While many of us are stuck indoors, we’re having to maintain a healthy lifestyle as best we can – and this can be difficult! Having to only go outside for necessities and sitting indoors working on the computer all day can do damage to our bodies.

Eyestrain

It’s easy to strain your eyes from staring at a computer screen for so long, and this can result in headaches, dry eyes and even neck and shoulder pain. A way to fix this is simply by taking more breaks away from the screen; leave your makeshift office and move around, drink plenty of water and stretch your legs. If you can, consider sitting by a window to get in natural light and fresh air.

Routine

With things the way that they are, it can be easy for one day to bleed into the next. Soon, you’re losing track of what day it is, and every day seems like an endless cycle of the same thing. Living like this can have a negative impact on your mental health. One thing you can do to prevent this is to create your own daily schedule – plan out how each day will go, including when you plan to eat and exercise, and this can help you to get some routine back into your day.

Staying active

We’re advised to leave the house only once a day for exercise – so be sure to make it count! Go for a walk, run, jog or ride your bike around your neighborhood daily to keep fit. Both the exercise, fresh air and the sunshine will do you good! When you’re inside, you can also do your own exercises such as yoga or weight lifting if you have the right equipment. Another easy option is to put a workout video on your TV and follow through the steps in your living room. Aside from this, make sure you still eat plenty of healthy foods like fresh fruit and vegetables and stay hydrated.
